The final model

2 drafts and 1 developed model

The stair for Ai Weiwei's Studio is a platform, with circular steps gradually going down.
It represents the complex personality of the artist. His way was tough but he finally got where he was supposed to be. It doesn't matter which step you take - you will get to your destination anyway. The stair leads to the studio space where the sunflower seeds are exhibited. The stair replicate the idea of the sunflower seeds. Small parts are connected in one united form.

The stair for Louise Bourgeois is a set of small, thin petals-platforms. The fragility of the structure reflects the life and art of the artist. Her childhood trauma on which all her art is based has affected her a lot. Even though it brought her popularity it still means her soul was damaged. The platforms are attached to the pole with the narrow side. It shows that the art can be based on negative emotions however it is a very hard thing to balance on that edge.

The Stairs

I thought of angled steps=triangles at first.

I developed a model, a flat one, so that it looks like a platform.

Another version of that was not as flat!

Some more sketches

After a few days i decided that the stair will look much better with curcular steps.

This was initially meant for Louse Bourgeois. Very complex structure and slopes=steps.
Showing that her art was based on a childhood trauma. However good her work and progress were she was highly affected by her memories throughout her life.

Sketchup Models

The model for the studio above the ground for Louise Bourgeois.
The structure standing on one edge reflects the artwork i've chosen.
